I think the theft rate is going up very soon, all us NorCalers are heading South to steal us some of those Smarts that have landed!

I think getting a tracking system might be better, like guidepoint
Guidepoint uses a state-of-the-art computer module that's equipped with a global positioning satellite (GPS) receiver, wireless data modem and vehicle interface component that allows us to "talk and listen to the car." Each unit's unique electronic serial number-similar to a cell phone number-allows information to be sent back and forth between the vehicle and Guidepoint's Response Center over a nationwide wireless network.

you can also track it nationwide including canada and mexico.

I have it on my xb its a great systme.

LOJACK is the only system tracked by Law Enforcment, You can purchase anything you want, but we will not be able to locate your stolen vehicle if you use something other than LOJACK.

And Yes I know OnStar can track your vehicle, but they like everyone else have to call us and tell us where to find your car, with LOJACK we have equipment in our patrol car which allows us to locate much faster without the middleman.

This is incorrect the LoJack system can not be used to track the vehicle location by computer. The only people with access to a tracking system are law enforcement.

I'm talking about the guide point. I have it on my son's car and I can track it at any time it will tell me where the car is at all times, just by logging in to the website.

This is great as a parent, but if your car gets stolen it will not help the police find your car. Sure you can tell us what your computer says but that may or may not help depending onteh agency and where your computer is at that time. Also LOJACK is only $600 if I remember correctly.
