Torrance Environmental Fair - March 27, 2010 at Madrona Marsh, Torrance, California.

Please understand that I can't say this 100% for sure, but it appears that one of the Smart Dealers MAY be coming to the Torrance Environmental Fair, March 27, 2010 (10 AM - 3 PM) at Madrona Marsh. (It a high probability, but not a given yet...)

So much the better if they can come.

Naturally, that's the day I have to work.

However, I may be able to come to the final hour or so of the fair.

As the day approaches, I'll provide any updates...

First, I'd be more interested if Smart Car opened a DEALERSHIOP in Torrance and created jobs.

Secondly, FIX your registration. You have asteriks next to fields that read "Required" but not next to other fields BUT you still require it.

I for one would love to see a dealership open in Torrance too. However, given the low number of sales, that isn't likely until numbers pick up. I recall that a while back, they were going to open a dealer in Torrance, but that never happened.

I can't fix anything, I'm not part of the Madrona Marsh Organization nor do I work for the city. I'm just passing information I got from them (and the Smart Center).

However, if you can tell me web page you found the broken links, I can pass the word back to them.

What happened here is that the Marsh People had sent me the email about the upcoming event. It just so happened that I had gone to a Smart Center and had the business card (with an email address). I suggested this to the Smart Center people and so far it looks like they are coming to this event. The last word is that they were faxing in the form and they hope to see me there...

It should be interesting to see the reaction from the people when the see the Smart.

UPDATE:

I decided to double check with Adrian Castellanos, Smart Car Beverly Hills. They ARE coming to the event. For those who live in or near the Torrance Area, please come by this event (in your Smart) and give an extra plug for your car....

I heard a rumor today that smart Center, Cerritos might open a new smart center in Torrance. Remember, this is just hear-say. Also, if we show up at this event, will we be able to display our vehicles in the event or have to park outside?

OK, off topic, but I'll answer what I overheard... (This should be verified, because I'm only repeating what I heard today...)

The Smart Center in Cerritos did the best as far as sales in the US. It appears that the dealership was able to purchase the West Covina store.

AT last year's event, the main parking lot for the Madrona Marsh was where the Fair was located. The street was blocked off at the West end and people used the street as a parking lot.

So, you won't be able to park inside the event area, BUT you will be able to park near the event area. HINT: Come early and get close parking spots.

Both Smart Centers are Penske owned. Cerritos service is done at penske owned Buick,GMC and Hummer down the street after you drop the car off at smart center(great service by the way) The last time i was at West Covina 2years ago Service was done at Penske owned Mercedes dealer. If a dealer opens in Torrance it Might be Penske Owned.
