i've watched some of them too. I even found a video of a truck with a ship horn ... You might have seen it.
But, i wonder about the legality of a train horn on passenger vehicles. And, so far as the smart is concerned ... Where on earth would you mount it??
On the smart, where the original horn is installed, there is the exact same opening on the other side, same place, same size.
I installed the harbor freight bad boy dual air horns, one in each place.
With those horns, if they don't get out of your way, it will blow them out of the way. Hee hee

I've got the same horn, although I've only got ONE of them.
Even two though would be a far cry from a train horn, let alone a ship horn. I am pretty sure either one (train or ship) would be illegal in most places.
But, we can enjoy our Bad Boys! You've got TWO installed? Wow! Hear that Alan?

I don't really understand the train horn thing unless you think it's going to help you avoid an accident. I had some 75 year old man back into me in a parking lot who was completely oblivious to hitting me eventhough I was honking, so I guess for people who shouldn't have their license in the first place it could be good. Kinda like I never understood why people put European plates on their cars when they are driving around the states as if I'm suppose to be impressed.
I had some F250 truck behind me today blowing a train horn who was getting onto I-95. I had pulled out in front of him with plenty of room but I guess he wasn't into doing the speed limit for a whole block before getting onto I95. Needless to say I decided not to do right on red which pissed him off even more and so he proceeded to honk his fancy horn and I decided to drive slowly to get onto I95 just for effect. If you are using it because you think it will get people out of your way, well it worked the complete opposite for me. Then again big trucks think they own the road and well he wanted to fly down residential roads at unsafe speeds. Sorry to say this is my hometown and your horn is lame unless you are using it for safety.

I don't have anything to add regarding train horns, except to say I see your point. I'd like to add though, tailgaters have the same effect on me ... I slow down for them. Obviously, this is opposite the effect they wanted. From my perspective though, their riding my bumper could cause an accident. I'd rather have that accident happen at 35 MPH than 55 MPH. If they don't like it, they can pass me more easily at the reduced speed.
