Seems like a train horn would give a better effect for looking around for a train while a ship...well, unless you are driving near port docks then it should be fair to assume a ship isn't nearby.

Probably...As long as you can get it up to the minimum psi required by the particular horn (and if the air tank is big enough).

Too big for a fortwo

But, I think it'd be neat if only possible.
Notice the guy is wearing ear cups. That thing is not for safety! More likely to cause an accident than prevent one.

yep, that will work but the air tank would need to be in a trailer

It'll be funny to have a secret switch, like covered with a center console sticker (self destruct would be cool) blow off a train horn in your Smart to a cop, then switch to the normal horn when he stops you.
-"I thought I heard a train come from your little car, nevermind you're free to go"
"OH WAIT!!! Tell me everything you know about Smarts!"

- I got blown at by a train horn today by someone in a Suburban.
I just drove even SLOWER
- I wish I got his plates...

Our company has a $1,500,000 show truck that has a train horn on it for shows. The guy that shows it said it"s totally illegal to use on the street. I've got the air horn on my smart. So far it has saved the giant killer from 2 accidents. It definately gets the correct reaction form someone who is about to hit you.(makes them hit the brakes instantly, guy that was backing into me. or makes them swerve away, guy that was moving over into me.)

I've had the same experience with my 2 wheeler

Air horns just make people pay attention

If you want a really great air horn...try the Stebel Nautilus. 139 db should do the job.
