smart trounces Lambo at stop light

Yesterday I pulled alongside a brand new Lamborghini at a major intersection. We were the first cars at the crosswalk, sitting side-by-side.

What a comedy it turned out to be. As the light cycled traffic by us in various directions and people crossed the street... NOBODY took a second look at the Lambo, and EVERYONE smiled, pointed, and gawked at the smart that towered over the mega-machine at my side. Someone snapped a picture.

When the light changed, the Lambo owner nearly left rubber as he made a point to blast away in a roar of noise. I could only imagine what he must have been thinking in that moment about his multi-hundred-thousand-dollar investment.

It was a classic moment I will never forget!

Parked my smart at the Ft Lauderdale airport valet parking - usually pretty high-end vehicles there.

When I got back a few days later the valet said it was amazing how much attention the smart got, he had not seen anything like it before - even with a new Phantom on one side and a Lambo on the other side, the car everyone went over to look at was the smart! Unfortunately I had the finger and nose prints all over the windows to prove it.

I have to admit that the image of the three cars together was quite striking - three very odd ducks. Wish I had taken a picture.
