smart USA Satisfaction Survey

Just got a prompt to fill out an online survey from smart (internet brands). It hit my spam filter. The link includes my vehicle VIN (so they are specific about which customer is responding)

Mostly multiple choice, but a place to leave a comment. The following is my comment:

The addition of a $500 "Dealer Service Charge" on top of license and registration state fees is unacceptable. I fully understand that in Florida the dealer must charge all customers the same service fee by law. The sad state of affairs is that Weston smart fails to provide anything in return for the $500 fee. It’s become an easy excuse to clip the customer for another $500. It is for this reason I feel ripped-off.

Being ripped-off by Rick Case/Weston smart dealer to the tune of $500 has diminished what otherwise would have been an enjoyable affair. I have no problem paying reasonable fees for services rendered. I however did NOT receive $500 worth of service from Weston, it’s soured my experience with what is otherwise an exceptional product.

For this reason alone that I have not sung the praises of smart, and certainly not smart Weston / Rick Case.

Hopefully all forum members who fill out the CSI will be objective and honest in their comments; smart usa needs to know where the dealers are doing well and where they've failed to live up to the smart buying experience concept. Smart also needs your feedback on vehicle problems, difficulty getting parts and any communication issues you've had. Please tell it like it is and help out the folks getting their cars down the line. Thanks for being the trail breakers.

Thanks for the honesty. Too many people are so happy to get their car that they forget the endless waiting, the clueless sales people, the lack of any useful information from Smart, not to mention the lame warrentee and the fact that the orphans are going to walk-ins off the street and not necessarily to loyal reservation holder that have waited so long. If we just smile and pick up our cars, nothing will change, in fact it could get worse!

I am one who is not happy with the way Smart has handled things. Ordered my car the very first day, car has now been sitting at the dealership now for almost a MONTH because of poor planning by Smart and Mercedes benz north Smart.

I asked to transfer the car to the other houston dealership that is open and they said NO. I have been out looking at the Toyota Yaris and the Honda Fit as replacements for the rotting Smart Car.

In case you cant tell, I am pi$$ed of that this has happened. I was thrilled when my car came in but now I am contemplating telling them to...........STICK IT.

Poor planning by SMART , poor service by SMART, poor dealership Mercedes Benz North Houston

PS. The dealership csm to this day will deny the cars are even there to anyone, not wanting to get bit by customers

so if this is your dealership your car is probably there (over 16 cars in back sitting for a Month)

I just did my survey. Middle of the road responses to pretty basic questions. There were no major problems with my purchase experience. The dealer was just a little disorganized. But at least it was open!

Did my survey today. No problems at all at the Round Rock smart center. Probably one of the better buying experiences I have had. Although it is owned by the same folks that own the Scion dealership, which was the only other good buying experience I can say I have had.

It came from a marketing agency.

Gave them descent marks. No issues with mark-up fee fortunately. Staff was personable. Knowledge was better than average.

Did have issues with the short warranty. I mean for a "new" car in a new market used to 100k mile warranties from other car manufacturers and we get a lousy 24k/24k miles?

But thats not the dealer's fault.
