Smart vs. Toyota IQ- Comparing the 2

Maybe these figures have already been posted but can't find them. I'm interested in a Smart but was wondering how the IQ would compare. Here is what I came up with: Smart:106.10" in length--IQ:126.9
Wheelbase-Smart:73.50" IQ:78.7"
Width-Smart:61.40" IQ:71.4"
Smart:71 HP IQ:93 HP
And from what I have read the IQ will either have a 5-speed manual transmission or the optional CVT transmission. I can't seem to find out how much the weight of the IQ. 20" longer and 10" wider(IQ) should give you a pretty good idea what they would look like side by side.

Since the US specs on an IQ are not out yet we just can't compair.

All we can do is guess

For example, here is a guess on price from Cube FX
Quote:
iQ will go on sale in UK for around £10000 (BASE PRICE).
Here is SMART prices.
PURE (£6905)
PASSION (£8545)
CABRIO PASSION (£10495)

Expect iQ sell here in the States for around $18K-$19K

CUBE
And that was from October of 08, If anyone has any concrete info newer than that for a US spec that is not a "concept" please share with us

smart: transparent roof or convertible
IQ: steel roof, no convertible

Bringing over the BRABUS powerplant would even the odds in the power department; it has 98 HP.

FWIW, the pictures shown here: Scion Brings iQ to the US of A | Scionpedia.org show a transparent roof.

But until one actually gets to the US, it's a guessing game for sure.

Are the deminsions correct on the IQ? Width of over 78 inches seems a bit wide to me. My C-5 Z06 Corvette is only 73.6 inches wide. That little sucker must have to carry "wide load" placards on the rear.

Magazines have shown an interesting convertible design using the iQ platform. They also speculate that a US version will have the same conventional power plant as the Yaris so the mileage claims made by European models will not be met here in the US.
