Smart vs weinermobile?

Howdy all

I was cruising around McLean, VA yesterday and totally by chance happened upon (one of) the Oscar Meyer Weinermobile?

Anyone else ever meet up with one? (I believe there are 9 or 10?)

interesting to note that the entire lenght of my smart is just the wheel base of the big hot dog?

Cool find. According to Wiki, there are only seven Wienermobiles in existence. Looks like you took the photo with the same Weinermobile as Suze!

Here is interesting fact:

"The hotdogger position of driving the wienermobile is an open position to U.S. citzens and the duration of the job lasts for one full year: from the first of June until the following first of June. Every March at Kraft and Oscar Mayer headquarters in Madison, Wisconsin there are final round interviews held for the hotdogger position. Each vehicle holds two hotdoggers, and twelve people are chosen from a final pool of 30 candidates brought to Oscar Mayer headquarters. The 30 candidates are screened across the country from over an average of 2000 applicants. Both current hotdoggers and Oscar Mayer recruiters visit college campuses across the country in search of the next round of hotdoggers. Only college seniors who are about to graduate are eligible for applying to this hotdogger position. Currently there are about 500 hotdogger alumni who have served as hotdoggers and driven the wienermobile."

The wienermobile sounds like the cure for those with smart-ED.

Not all that uncommon a sight in this area. In fact I saw one yesterday at the BratFest in Madison.

On first glance I thought you said you were at a BRAfest. Hmmm..

Bratfest! Was it sponsored by Subaru?

It's been a little while since I've seen the Weinermobile - I'll have to get the supermarket to tell me next time they are in town. I always seem to be doing something else. I love the weiny whistles they have to give out. I have a Beanie Wienie too in my Weiner collection. Don't ask to see it...my wiener collection I mean.

There are also a couple of Weinermobles that are based on Mini Coopers. Perhaps, for the next generation, they'd consider using smarts!!???? You know..for "cocktail weinies!!!???
