SMART WINDSHIELD WIPER?? Anybody else noticed this???

I'm wondering if anybody else has noticed the REAR SMART WIPER ???
Although the rear wiper CAN be trigger from the column, but if its SWITCHED OFF, and the Front Wiper is ON (any mode) and you shift into REVERSE, the REAR WIPER goes into DELAYED WIPE mode.
Quite Smart for a SMART!!
I've got a 2008 Passion and would like to hear if anyone else has noticed this and if its something that has been functioning in Europe?
Its not noted in the manual.

Owner's Manual page 111:

The rear window wiper wipes one time when the reverse gear is engaged with the windshield wipers switched on.

Hey Jpaul.. if you leave it in reverse, it repeats about every 6-10 seconds. HA

Also if you have the front wipers on the first continuous wipe speed, when you come to a stop the wipers automatically become intermittent. If you have them on full speed and come to a stop they automatically go to the slower speed.

Speaking of the rear wiper, where can we find a replacement of it when the time comes? (It is so tiny!)

I have seen similar wipers on other small non-Smart vehicles. Could a replacment be found using something generic for that size?
