Way to represent!
Wow, amazingly bad logic on Yahoo Answers. Here is the question I saw first, quoted:
'Why is the smart car bad?
i am doing a research paper on why smart cars should be banned because they are dangerous to people. I wanna know every detail why you think the smart car is a bad car nationwide =]'
This genius has a conclusion, and needs to write a paper to support the conclusion and is asking others to support it. This is like asking, 'Why do we know the Moon landing was faked? Please respond with your answers' or more 'down to Earth', 'How do we know motorcycles are unsafe and should be banned?'
This approach is completely illogical, and such a violation of the laws of logic would be severely lambasted in any kind of real debate.
The best thing for a fair, impartial party to do is collect data first, and THEN come to conclusions based on the data without violating the laws of logic (as in, not merely attempting to prop-up an a-priori conclusion).
