smart as your primary vehicle

I was just wondering how many of you are going to use your smart as your primary or only vehicle? I can understand how this would fit as a toy in some person's garage but how many are committed to this as their only car?

95% of my driving is solo, so the smart has racked up 1100 miles in 31 days. That's as primary as it gets for me. This little bugger gets great mileage, but doesn't care for crosswinds, or being behind a semi. But is that a gripe? Nope..... it is tiny, and that's expected.

I commute 140 miles a day (70 each way) and my Smart will be my primary commuter. I have a backup car, for if I need to carry anything large ;) But otherwise the Smart is it.

mine's a toy.

i personally do not think the smart fortwo is a practical primary vehicle. for the same price as a smart, you can get a 4 seater compact car with much more storage space with great gas mileage.

Both: the only toy/car. I haven't had a car in 6 years, but wished to have a smart since the late 90's. Now, is the wish going to be fulfilled soon? I sure hope so.

Thanks for the feedback. I bet JThw8 will be the first in line if they come up with a cruise control. All in all, it seems like most blend highway and local driving? Are there any super urban people who never get onto the highway?

Cruise would be nice no doubt, but I almost never use it now, the highway which I commute on never quite settles into a constant speed so there's little opportunity. Still I will be adding it on as soon as a good system is available.

I bought my current driver at the end of September with 92,000 miles on it, I have 124,000 miles on it now. I drive too much

I haven't owned a car in 20 years. we live in mid-town manhattan (pretty urban, not always super). my usual commute is about 20 feet.

smart will be our only car. it will cost more to park it than it will to drive it. we've liked them since '98.

My smart is my go to work, gym, and anywhere around town that I'm not going to buy something big car. So I guess that makes it the primary vehicle.
