Just curious, is it the size of the Smart that bothers your wife on the freeway? We run every day 80-85 up here in Mi. and the car handles great. (except in 45+winds.).

I hear the S.B. cops have some black and white Smarts. Have you seen them yet ? Best Regards. A2Jack.

Husband drives the Accord, Smart is my primary car, I commute about 45 miles RT weekdays, half on local roads and the other half via interstate.

I'm nice and let him chauffeur me in the Smart on the weekend, though.

Otherwise, it'd be like having a winning lotto ticket and not sharing, ya know?!

Smart will be my primary vehicle, besides my Yamaha Vino 125 ;). Wife has '05 Scion xB. WE will probably use the Smart more than the xB, and her dad owns a Prius (just last week) and is jealous of the Smart already! I would get one even if (maybe especially if) I did not have the wife's car as a back up because there really is no situation where you will be "stranded" with a two seater. you can always follow someone or ride in their car. Also most "big" purchases can be delivered anyways. (if not by the store then by your friend or relative that pays 100 a week in gas for his "work truck") If you are buying a Smart, then you probably won't mind using some of the money you save for delivery fees. Its just easier. The only thing I am trying to figure out is how to get a surfboard in the Smart... hmm.. maybe I need the cabrio! saw some pics of this idea in car and driver

It will be a while until I get one, if I do. I commute daily by motorcycle, a 75mpg Kawasaki Ninja 250cc twin. It does all I need it to for now. My wife and daughter take her Lexus GX everywhere. My old 88 Subaru does not get used anymore. If I get a Smart, it will only be used to take my daughter places, though she prefers to don a helmet and join me on two wheels. Weather is really the only concern I have on my bike, though I ride rain or shine anyway. A Smart would still sit behind my bike in the garage, but would be a welcome addition when the purchase price comes closer to the MSRP, or even the European prices.
