I know, I know,...shut up.

If I have to have a mag, I usually get it off the shelf (top rack) But I have learned that if its not from one of the top dawgs (Time, newsweek, playboy, etc.) that have been around for years, its not a safe bet to throw money at them.
The flip side of the conservation argument is that magazines don't use electricity whilr you use them....

Personally, I just don't like reading a computer monitor for long periods of time. I could never do an e-book, there's just a tactile experience that comes with flipping through the pages of a book or magazine that I miss on a computer.

One can subcribe to e-magazines that can be read on e-book readers. The newers ones use E-Ink screens. It is as readable as printed paper and only use electricity when refreshing the screen (aka; when one turns the 'page'). The
Kindle Kindle
from http://www.amazon.com does not require a computer but links to the http://www.amazon.com site via a wireless (no cost) connection. There are other http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_e-book_readersthat also use the http://www.eink.com/screen and can read ebooks in a variety of formats.

It would have been nice if Smartimes sent an e-mail with a link to the .pdf version of the magazine. This allows readers to either print it or read it on ones computer or ebook reader. I had subscribed last year and this year but have not received any thing in print from them.

There are Adobe reader for a variety of platforms.

Funny you mention the association with smart USA. I picked up a copy of the Smartimes Spring 09 issue at the smart center Charlotte for free (thanks Matt & Ben). They had a box with 25-50 Smartimes Spring 09 mags in there. I guess I got lucky! I don't know how or where they got them from and didnt ask. I like the mag but, was kind of dissapointed with Minty's roadster diary... He wrecked his roadster and was on the fence about repairing it... In the end he replaced it with a Nissan Cube... WTF??? He writes for Smartimes but, replaced his smart with a Nissan.

As mentioned earlier......Bad sign...

Smartimes Magazine

I was asked by Smartimes Magazine to photograph and write an article about the Dragon. I sent them a DVD with about 100 pictures and a four page article about the event. I have yet to get a responce. I assume my time and efforts were in vane. The latest version of the DVD is pretty good and the article was spot on. (sent one to Jetfuel for review) Sorry they didn't get it done. A responsible business owner would read these threads and reply. It's no sin to fail, but it is to take peoples subscription and ad moneys and have no intent of publishing.

I'd settle for access to an electronic version at this point. I should have known better since I paid for site access when it the mag was in England, and the site went poof. Everything was password protected, even the PDF files when downloaded, but at least it was something. PIA to read, but good info on the 450.
I thought with the 451 American market, the mag might rise from the dead, but no.
