Smarts on the Dragon

Anyone else ready to start thinking about a Smarts on the Dragon rally or get together sometime late spring or early summer up on US 129 in NC/TN?

Have been up there the past few years in May with the Mini and over 400 others.

Obviously we won't beat the mini and sport bike times on the run but could be great fun to meet up, test the cars on the curves and parade the area.

Always wanted to do the Dragon with my MINI, but the weekend they always pick (first weekend in May) is the weekend that just happens to be some little ol' horse race in town! ;)

Smarts on the Dragon would be cool . I have owned 3 MINIs over the last 6 years, but haven't gotten to the Dragon yet however I did take my S2000 there in April 2001 along with 99 other S2000s.

Never heard of the draggon.... more info..photos, map route... sounds fun

I will not be taking mine up Pikes Peak --- but once I get the power, suspension, and tires sorted out I will be looking for better roads for wringing her out on then we have in my area...

...or smarts off the Dragon?

Considering the number of wrecks and near wrecks on the Dragon (and that's with true performance cars) I'm not sure taking a smart down there is a good idea, unless we can all agree to do a leisurely cruise through the twisties.

One entry on the "Tree of Shame" is enough.

Been there several times with the Mini and with the Harley.
Not the kind of road you want to try to set a record on with a Smart Car but great for a day of enjoying resonable work through the curves. It's like Harley's vs the Sport bikes. The Harley's can't handle high speed on the Dragon but the trip and ride is still worthwhile. Also nearby are two other wonderful driving roads with beautiful views that would be a fine fit for the Smarts.

Also been there several times with my Audi TT (yet to make it there with either MINI). Fun road on a weekday. Really "demands" a zippy car, imho.
