Smarts on a golf course

I am not a golfer but I read a post / listing where someone stated they had used their Canadian Smart on a golf course. I asked my dealer about this and he said it was bogus. However when I asked the local course about it, they had no problem once they saw it. I was allowed to drive it on the course just like every other golf cart. It was almost the same size, tread, etc. At the end of the day I parked it in empty golf cart parking inside the course at the clubhouse. When I came back outside after lunch, I had to laugh and take this picture. It was so bright outside I didn't realize my finger was in the way of the camera, but you get the idea. Smarts make great golf carts.

Great shot, finger or not. Smart owners will be checking the golf courses nationwide.

There's no way in hell they'd let me drive my smart on the golf courses here in MN.

It might be the same size but it's a lot heavier, the tread is more aggressive. It would tear up the fairway if not cause it to sink. This thing outweighs most golf carts.

If I had a hybrid smart, I would consider it. It would be fun to see people's reactions.

A smartie's pretty close to the specs of a typical golf cart!

On average, golf cars are approximately 6’ H x 4’ W x 8’ L.
Approximate weight is: 900 to 1000 lbs with batteries.

I don't know what kind of carts are being driven up there, but down here golf carts get pretty souped up. Even though the Smart is a little heavier, with the wider tires on it, the pressure on the ground is not that different than a cart. The day I drove it around it had been raining all morning. The carts tore up the ground more than the Smart.

Cute and it never hurts to ask. Now you just have to mod the car with the golf cart rack to be official. ;)
