From The Paris Blog, the little rodent, seemingly produced on a life-sized scale so as not to humiliate the Smart atop which he rides, bearing wooden spoon and sporting toothy grin is being used to promote dvd sales.
Aww man! Here at AFI Dallas, we wanted permission to use that movie (cant spell it) to promote Savor Dallas! Too bad smarts didnt make it into the film.
When I watched the movie, I replayed the health inspector section (after he saw the rats and jumped into his car to drive away) about a dozen times to see if he was getting into a smart car or just a microcar. I never did decide (it's only about a second's worth of the car).
