We also bought an orphan but all of our correspondence from smart has correctly had our name on it and not the name of the person who originally ordered the car. I know not everyone will agree with this but IMHO I think that for the most part smartusa has done a great job with this project. As is to be expected there have been some bumps along the way which we all hope smart will learn from and will be fixed or resolved asap. I'm just glad they finally brought the car to the US!

800SMARTUSA referred me back to the dealer.

Called Smart of Buckhead (GA dealer), caught Emily off guard with such a poser of a question, but she put me on hold, came back on the phone, and did the transfer by phone with me.

Very pleasant, and very helpful. A+++

I forgot about doing my transfer of ownership and finally started this morning. I got the referral to the same "let's talk" number and when I called smart usa customer care I was told smart is not associated with the roadside assistance and warranty program (???).
