In the mail this Saturday, I received my Emergency Kit from smartUSA. I wasn't expecting anything, so I had no idea as to what it was. I opened it, it was a welcome letter from smart and things they considered 'emergency items'.

Included was a gift card for Starbucks, a gift card for Barnes and Noble, and a 5 dollar gas card !! Suprised me to say the least !

Of course I had to joke with my wife by saying the Starbucks and Barnes and Noble cards were for when you are broken down waiting on a wrecker, you can at least buy a cup of joe and a magazine while you wait on the wrecker....

Seriously, it was a pleasant suprise getting that in the mail.

Im happy to see they are still going out

And that $5 gas card goes a lot further this year

Has not been discussed in a while, I thought it might have been discontinued

I'm just sad that my Starbucks card was empty. I don't remember taking it out, using it, and putting it back, either. I can always get Starbucks at my Barnes & Noble!

I got an anniversary card after a year. Nice touch (no gift cards, but still more than I've ever gotten from another car maker).

Yeah Mud Pie it's something smart USA has been doing all the time. I've never had a manufactuer do as much for me as these guys have done.

How long after your purchase did you receive your kit?

I bought Betty May 22 of this year and received my "emergency kit" last week. Don't know if its based on purchase date, or if they just send them out quarterly to everyone that had bought a car that previous quarter.

But yes it was a nice surprise.

Nice to see they're still doing that... The gas card comes in handy, too. The Starbucks and Barnes & Noble cards are still in my wallet. The closest of either of those is around 40 miles, a bit far for just "wandering by."

I received my emergency kit about 4 months after I bought Lil Red last July.
