Smashed passenger window!

I am so upset! Someone smashed the window and stole the gps in broad daylight! I am usually so good about hiding the gps to prevent this and the one time I don't I pay for it!

Anyone know how hard it is to get the window replaced? Do glass people carry the right size or will I have to go to the dealer? So far no one can help til Monday.

sorry to hear about the damage to your smartie. I think anyone can get the window but they might have to order it either way i think. That is why I have gps on my cell phone I always keep that on me!

My rear window was smashed out a few months ago.More than $800.00 to fix and I'm still finding glass.Although nothing was stolen I decided not to put in a new stereo headunit in and only do the speakers.Nothing stays in the car anymore.

I'm am so sorry to hear about your window futuresmartgirl. I take it that your insurance will cover the costs but still it is very dishearting. I would get the dealer to replace it as I had a glass company replace a window in a truck that I had and they used glass a little too thick and the window always seem to be in a bind. Good luck and I hope you get your smartie back as good as new soon.

Sorry to hear about your window - I had a similar problem back in the early fall (the thieves did a smash-n-grab on 6 cars in my neighborhood). Thankfully, South Carolina has free glass replacement mandated, so it didn't cost me anything (not directly, anyways - TANSTAAFL). But the glass shop had to go through the dealer, and it took about 4 days before I had a new window... I don't know if anyone is stocking smart glass yet - if not, you may have a similar wait.

What a society

Aren't you all enraged that we have to totally adjust our lives due to the dishonest/criminal element? Having 2.3 million Americans in jail or prison is just unbelievable. Wonder when we'll get fed-up and take our neighborhoods
back. One of the great things I love about Europe is not having to worry much at all about crime.

I totally refuse to live in these big city, high crime places here. Thankfully we have laws that let us carry concealed.

Yes that would be nice. Stupid gun laws only hurting the innocent.

Crackheads have no respect for you or your property. Thefts from autos is a crime of opportunity. And it is not confined to "the big city". Take away the opportunity, ie don't leave ANYTHING setting out in your car, and the crime goes away. If you aren't prepared to make that small change in your life, then you welcome such behavior into your life.
