it had black painted wheels, painted gas cap to match the body of the car, painted lower lip, navi, bluetooth, interior frog eyes for the tach, foglights, and God knows wat else.

Absolutely - that was the first clue something was wrong. Which dealer is this?

Maybe they will get real lucky and get to keep this one for their test drive vehicle!!! I cannot say my Orphan wasn't 'heaped with crap' to mark up the sale price, but I bought a Passion with $2K of stuff I could live with for under $18,000!! Good Luck with what ever decission you make.

I gotta say....my orphan was $12,395 with $65 in fees total. Bobby Rahal M-B Smart was super to deal with. I have another car (the car I ordered) due in Sept......hope to get it too.

18k or less and buy it on the spot... Ok, will you take a Pure, no options, basic colors? You realize that's a $6k markup or 50%. Careful how you phrase things and how excited you are. The smart is a great car, but if you get so anxious to take anything, you perpetuate the dealer's profiteering.

Nav options, bluetooth, special paint... an orphan? No, that sounds like a dealer profit car there. Nav, bluetooth... a grand. A Cabrio with Nav, full sound system, etc. should run under $22k (am I right, anyone?). $25k sounds like they were selling you every option that got them the most profit. You had every right to turn that down and wait for another one, or even go elsewhere. There's no reason you have to shop at a particular dealer; you can deal with anyone if you're willing to drive there. Check the few dealers north of you, I think there's one in Clearwater. Miami is too expensive anyway, for anything really.

I'm thinking for 25K it better do more than drive around town. It should wake me up, have coffee and breakfast ready, navi itself to my place of employment, and have dinner ready after cleaning the house! For less than 20K you could get a Cabrio loaded! Try not to act so desparate! Let your dealer know that you can either wait for what you want or if this is their normal business practice, find another dealer. Not every dealer is trying to stick it to smart lovers! It's all about patience and GREAT dealers, not rushing and thieves!!
