So we were in our local Tavern....

and my smart was parked out front apparently attracting attention - anyway, this teenager and his dad were chatting with us and the kid had the best idea for panels - he though it would be cool to have "see through" panels so you could "see" inside the smart. I was amazed that this 16 year old boy had that kind of imagination! What do you all think?
Also - do you have to change your registration if you switch the panel colors?

Pretty cool idea, or just drive around naked (the car, not you)... ie, sans panels.

As for registration, read here:
Changing the color panels on the Smart....Registration issues??

I think the smart would be kind of ugly without panels. I've seen zippy naked and it's not good.

No, you don't change your registration when you change colors. Most states register the tridian cell color, I think. My smart was all silver when I got it and is registered silver, so I can't verify that theory.

...hey...if you find those see-through panels let me know...I'll love to show the world something I'm really proud off....

...tridion cell color is what matters...no panel color...

There are devices that have see through cases so people can see what is inside. I think it would be a neat idea; especially if one adds lights to the inside behind the clear panels that one can turn on/off.

An alternative would be panels that look clear but show a 'steampunk' type interior? (just thinking out loud ).

In NJ, my little car is registered as silver even though the panels are blue metallic.

I like that!!!

you could do computer stuff like Circuit Boards, or mechanical stuff like a bunch of gears (inside of a watch) or organic stuff like tree branches, as if it was made of wood. how about Bamboo?

Garage
Translucent frosted panels would be cool with 3 color LED's behind would rock. At night you could change the cars color at will.

I may not be using my imagination strong enough, but if the panels were clear, wouldn't the only thing that would be seen is the gray moisture barrier ?

Or is it everyone's idea to make clear panels, remove the barrier, then remove the inner door panels so the inside can be seen ?
