Precisely yes. Sad thing about it is that particular car I will be giving to my daughter and I'll take the car she drives.

I like my solid roof. It is more room for my head.

Just dropped it off for the retrofit.

For those didn't follow my story earlier:

1. One of the fastener stands broke off. This stand holds one of the bolts for the sunshade.

2. The stand is molded as part of the pano-roof and that means the roof has to be replaced.

3. I sent a mail to Dave Schrembi in late Sept 2009 requesting a solid roof instead. Reason being, I have had enough with the heat. Besides it's cheaper for smartUSA to replace as a solid roof.

4. Received a reply from his product manager in early October 2009. He and Dave evaluated my situation for a day. Request approved next day.

5. Solid roof arrived at dealership late October 2009.

6. I only had time to drop off the car January 2010.

7. Got it back today (Jan 12, 2010) and gosh it looks good!

My email was ignored by Dave so they went the expensive route. I wish I would of been as lucky as you. Shudder to think of what I'll be doing next year (painting the roof on my out of warranty car)

Perhaps you could give it a 'stained glass' look? The Crazing would be less notable and still let light in?

No, I'll be painting it. It'll be a lot like the solid roof just not as sturdy, but it will be smooth.
