Someone moved MY CAR!!!

When I left my room this morning I found my car rotated 90 degrees between two other cars in the same spot. So I had to wiggle my way out, thankfully there was no apparent damage to the body panals on who moved it. They lifted the car from the wheel wells.

And I do not have the alarm sadly...otherwise it would have went off.

I have an idea on who could have done this as some friends of mine (now possibly former friends) joked about it a few weeks ago. I would have taken a picture but I think you all can get the idea on what happened.

Hopefully your friends are still under warranty, and you can get replacements free of charge. Of course, you may have to be placed on a 1-yr waiting list and put $99 down to reserve a new set. And the same colors available last year may not be available this year.

That and tipping are why I got the alarm on mine... touch my car and they'll put it down quick. The thing is, raising the car by the wheel wells might damage the panels if they don't do it right. A friend of mine said he'd try it but I told him the outer layers are plastic and he'd probably be buying me new panels, after setting off the alarm. He calmed down.

Hey, thanks for the funny comment. I needed that. I hope it is actually someone I know...otherwise I'll be worried about this happening again. (Can't wait for the ice and snow!!!)

Yep - I remember as a teenager back when the VW Beetle had only been in the US for a year or two. Our football coach drove one to school; one day a few guys from the football team turned it sideways in his parking spot. . . bit of a tight fit considering there were cars on either side. But the gravel surface made it easier . . . the coach didn't even light up when he found it. Just went and got the owner of one of the other cars to back out and he drove off. Never ever mentioned it, either!

Many Beetles have been moved long distances by senior high school pranksters

Get an alarm installed now! I had the Clifford G4 awhile back and it was good... had motion sensors, shock sensors, tilt sensors, glass... etc... and you can adjust the sensitivity of it.

I'm not sure what a comparable model is now as this was 8 years ago

Yep, looks like I need to look into a aftermarket alarm with motion sensors. Too bad my orphan didn't have an alarm installed on it.

Gotta love college students! (I'm one of them)

Back in the 80's when i was in college we moved a friends little civic to the other end of the apartment complex. It was part of trying to get him to realize he was over doing it with the drinking by making him think he could not remember where he had parked when he drove home drunk. We also convinced him one Sunday morning after two nights of binging that it was Monday and he had missed a big test. Even got some folks in the class to tell him how tough the test had been. Had him going for about 6 hrs.

Also about the same time someone had moved my sentra from an end spot onto the grass so they could use the parking spot.

Well I know the factory alarm is not an option, but I will call my local Smart center and ask them on options I have. I am hoping this is a one time deal and ity won't happen again.

I've looked at stuff online and they don't make much sense to me, none of them say they have a motion sensor. All I want is that if the car is tilted or moved it will trigger the panic horn.
