Alarm is an Option when Building your smart

How do you know if you actually have the alarm?
Man, that REALLY sucks!
Yeah, the alarm is an option you check when you build your smart during your $99 ordering.
There is a motion sensor/detector built-in. I was curious to see if it worked and tried moving my hand inside the car and the alarm did go off. I also have a cabrio and use the alarm in it all the time. Especially if I leave my car with the top-down (I also lock the glove box).
I only have the top down if I'm going inside for a short while. If I'm going to be gone longer than a couple of hours, I'll put the top up.
Sorry about your theft. I know those covers aren't cheap.
Regards,
-Tom L.

People down here..... grr. Don't leave the top down - ever. Especially in a car that's as noticeable as ours.

Yeah I bought mine from a person so she didn't get the alarm or the fog lights, both which I'm pissed I didn't get.

People are scum. I wish I could have caught someone doing that.
I know what you mean. Someone slit the top on my Miata recently, broke the locked console open, and stole my 60GB iPod out of it. If only I'd caught him, I could be in jail right now awaiting murder charges...

I feel your pain. I myself might be awaiting murder charges...someone stole my burberry purse out of mine. the car was 4 days old. I thought I had the alarm. I guess I thought when I checked central locking system I thought it ws it. It was not. They used my credit cards at several gas stations, so I went and looked at their cameras. I found the beatup red Ford mustang convertable from the videos. I'm on medication to let me let the police pretend to do their job. I'm awaiting the final install of my hornet 727T alarm system today. I can't stand people even looking at my car. (Not cool because it's a SMART and everyone wants a look)

Don't forget to check the far reaches of your garage for the "stolen" piece.
