There is a question and answer also on that listing. Below is the question and answer.

Q: How do we do this? I don't think it's possible because I tried to switch with a friend from work and they wouldn't let us do it.

A: If you are interested in bidding please do. I have cleared this with Smart Headquarters. I had my reservation BEFORE they added the non transferable clause. Please refer to my feedback I am a trustworthy powerseller.

Something doesn't seem right about this .

The whole thing seems questionable...how do auction off something that is not even tangiable?????.....takers are putting themselves in a risky postion. I cannot believe smart would authorize this and I hope no one is dumb enough to take him up on it. Besides...I would be willing to bet you could find a better deal on an orphan at this point in the economic slowdown.

BS - the smart USA reservations have been non-transferable since Day 1 and the eBay policy is you can't sell something you don't have in your possession.

Can I sell my confirmation spot?

Yup. I have a non-transferable clause in my reservation notice from April 2007. The seller's quite probably lying.

There's a sucker born every minute...

Worst of all...

Read the ad and it only gets worse. The appeal is to buy the reservation because 5% of proceeds [less costs] goes to charity.

i.e.
I get $2375.00 minimum for the privilege of NOT buying my reserved car.
Charity gets $125.00 less my cost to post [$51 or so?] for a net donation of $75.00 to $125.00 [which I will graciously pay out from your payment and deduct from my income taxes].

Buyers-save your money and donate the $125.00 yourself, and take the deduction. You still do not have a guarantee of having the vehicle even after paying for the reservation. The car belongs to the dealership and it is strictly up to the dealership whether or not they sell it to you or to someone on their orphan list.

Well, I just now read this thread. And, checked out the eBay ad. It's still up. Seems odd to me they're so slow, or reluctant, to cancel an ad like this. When I was active on eBay I had a number of legitimate ads taken down after nuisance complaints from competitors. It was very obvious my ads were removed without eBay personnel even taking the time to read my ad copy. No reluctance there!

Maybe because they were only making 55˘ on my auctions.

The auction ended with three offers. Of a dollar each. I guess there weren't too many suckers in this case after all.

How does one report this to eBay? I can't find the right menu options.
