I was thinking of attaching part of an extension cord around the tank filler area and let it hang out while pumping gas BUT we're not allowed to pump our own here in OrEgone.
Hi! I grew up in Vancouver, WA (across the bridge from Portland) we always pronounced it "Oregun"...Interesting how it changes over the years, I haven't been back in 35 years....
ya gotta love someone that knows what they're talking about!
.....and then some of us just me, but in my opinion (and we all know what they are, right?) YES, IT'S A STUPID QUESTION....since you've already BOUGHT THE CAR!
i guess i just don't understand how anyone could buy any car without knowing first if it's "front wheel drive", "rear wheel drive", "diesel or gas", etc.
even though the smart is a relatively inexpensive car, it's still a huge chunk of change to spend without knowing the basics. apparently we pay more attention to what our cell phone can do than the design of our cars.
you see 'impulse buying' at the grocery every day, in the check-out lines and where ever. have we as Americans 'kicked it up a notch' and now are spending over $10K on 'impulse items'?
no wonder the economy is in the toilet.
i appologize for offending anyone.....i'm just shocked that such a question would be asked AFTER the purchase.
Sorry about the stupid question.. But then again maybe if it was so stupid you shouldn't have wasted your time reading it and getting all worked up about it hu? lol..... ohhh and it was an impulse buy.. thats just how i roll!!
I was so excited, I didn't know anything...didn't care at that moment, LUST had set in!!!! I also found out later, from my alarm installer, after talking about drifting and all....that I had rear wheel drive! It happens ...I normally research very carefully, download all manuals BEFORE I get mdse....not this time!
"There's no such thing as a stupid question, but there is no end to the number of stupid people asking questions".
Now, before you get your back up, this doesn't apply. But sometimes, some people forget that what is natural as breathing to them, is black-box magic to someone else. Front-wheel or rear wheel is one of those things that most people haven't thought about since front-wheel drive became more common than rwd, just like most people take for granted the "web" as it is, not as it was 15 years ago, when you had to be Unix-literate and the web was a small experiment.
So, ask away - if you are curious. Legitimate knowledge is never a waste.
And to all you gear-heads, remember that not everyone really needs to know about all those technical details - that is what mechanics are for.
It might only seem a stupid question becuase some of us have only been able to sit here discussing these little cars and have not been out driving them....we spend our days here discussing every minute detail of the thing yet don't have one to call our own yet. So we know all about them.
Nothing the matter with an impulse buy either....though I prefer to obsess over every little detail for weeks before making a decision usually.
Suze...What if you want to check your oil, or have someone check your oil? Good to know where the fluids are also and know how to show the attendant how to access them.
