South Bend, let us know tomorrow

Even down here in sunny Frankfort Indiana we have heard of your wonderful 10" blessing that you have coming tonight wish we were there. Anywho, let us know how the old smart car runs in the "white sands"

Shh! We're close enough to South Bend that we get nearly the same amount they do, they get slightly more due to being closer to the lakes. We don't want or need anymore snow!!!

I'm a little to far East to get the heavy stuff, but I can tell you this, I had a nice crusty white layer of snow and ice in our addition this morning, and no matter how I tried, I couldn't upset my smart. Every time I stepped on it and tried to make the car get squirrelly, the traction control kicked in and kept me on the straight and narrow. I'm very impressed. If this is a sign of things to come, I have no worries about driving my smart all winter (not like I have a choice).

South Bend Report.....Ice, Ice, Ice

The streets were absolute sheets of ICE this morning! Like looking at glass all the way into work. Lil Bus did just fine, carefull driving does help. Seemed to do better than most of the cars around her, then again I'm riding on two week old tires. Did slide only once and that's because I tried too, when the coast was clear, just to see what would happen, only slid about a foot. I park on the top floor of our parking garage and no one else had been up there so there was no ice only a couple inches of snow, went though that just fine. Will give you a report in the morning when we've had enough snow to make a difference.

I am just wondering if my wife (aerocrew) will do as well in the deep stuff as she did in her H3, if she doesnt, then I can write a scathing review of the car like the people of car and driver and consumer reports do.

H3 = Great in snow gas not so good?
smart = Great on gas in snow not so good?

Oh well, I will not go over the obvious to anyone except car and driver, consumer reports etc.

My smart handled the snow in LaPorte and Porter (6-8 inches) counties just fine this morning. The only problem was all of the usual first snow of the season drivers wanting to do 55+ mph on I94 and then not being able to slow down because it was so slick. The stability control works well at trying to keep the car in a straight direction.
