Steering wheel covers

Has anyone found a steering wheel cover that will fit the smart? All the covers I have found the the typical stores: Wallie - World, Pep Boys, Avanced, Target; have all been too big for the smart's steering wheel. And my fingers are getting singed on the black leather wheel.

Thanks,
-Lindy

I bought a California Poptop car cover for mine before I drove to California. I kept the interior cool and is a breeze to put on.

How about investing in a pair of nice driving gloves? They look alot better then a steering wheel cover.

As I am burning my hands now in the heat, it's more of a want. I have always had steering wheel covers on all of my other cars. I would love to find one that would fit my smart

I saw a steering wheel cover that one wraps onto the steering wheel instead of being one piece. One can adjust it to fit the Fortwo. Have you looked for this kind of cover? I think this is one that one wraps onto the wheel.

This one might be one for the Fortwo.

You wouldn't believe how hard it is to find one that wraps. The Walmart in my neighborhood said they don't even carry the wrap ones any more. I would be willing to try it....... I need to go car supply shopping.

I have a quick fix for you. I brought a cover for mine at Auto Zone and it was too big so I put shelf liner in it to fill the space and keep it from slipping. Worked like a charm. Shelf liner is the one with the holes and is made of rubber that grips. You can buy it at Walmart or most dollar stores.

You can always go with something like a wheelskins cover (Wheelskins - The World's Finest Genuine Leather Motoring Accessories, Steering Wheel Covers, Driving Gloves and Shift Boots), but I don't think that would solve the problems with heat.

Beter yet - what about a windshield sunshade? They are out there - my dealer has some sitting at their parts counter. Had it been earlier in the year, I would have grabbed one at delivery.... alas - in a week my car is going to be garaged at home and at work, so it will be of limited use to me.

It looks like that site links to the product I linked above.

I don't think you are going to find a cover that is not custom made - the wheel is relatively small in diameter and is quite thick compared to most other cars on the road.
