Stereo when Starting up

I've always wondered. Sometimes when I start up my car my radio will be on, then when I ignite the engine, it will turn off then turn back on. Other times it may stay on the whole time and the tunes keep coming.

This is not about me wanting my radio turned off...the question is:

Does the amount of power left in the battery determine this or is it the temperature of the engine. Because they sometimes seem to go hand in hand.

For the 1+ years I've owned mine, the radio has never cut off when I start the engine. This is the first car I've owned that didn't, so I pay attention to each time just because of the oddity.

Mine stays on when as you say "I ignite the engine"
It used to turn off and then come back on, before I got the 2.0 upgrade.
I like it better, now that it stays on... I hated that lag when listening to something fun on NPR.

I think it may be a weak battery then...because it happens more in the winter time. Anyone else?

Mine stays on and did so before and after the 2.0 upgrade.
