Stuck in Customs?

April 1 my date finally comes back after being gone for a few months (May 23 - Aug 23). I check with the dealer. No word. A week goes by. I get a call confirming my options. I ask when it might come in. I'm told the following week! Things are FINALLY moving! The next week comes and no word. I contact the dealer. Now I'm told it's stuck in customs!

Anyone else have their car stuck in customs? How long does it take to get out? I was told I would be contacted when it is released from Customs.

Sooo Will I have it this month?

Have you considered a orphan? I had three months on my DDE and bought a car early. It's stuck in customs cause the French smuggle wine and cheese in the cars.

Hmmm, maybe you made someone mad at you. I used to live overseas and when I would ship people's household goods back home I would mess with if they messed with me. There were certain things that could be done to make sure it would get stopped in customs for a few extra weeks. Hmmmm, did you make anyone mad?

Do you think it would have made them mad if I refused to smuggle their dope, kids, in-laws in the wheel wells?

I've got a few legit buddies that work Customs here in FL. Can't help you about finding out about your car as they work at airports and not seaports. However, my dealer gave me the customs excuse and it took a week. Be patient.

Patience is not a virtue I possess

It's going to get near 80 this weekend and a trip to the beach with the top down sounded like fun

Oh well... What's a few more weeks? I hope they give it a bath when they're done strip searching it in customs!
