At first, I thought it was just that i over filled my tank (I usually stop after the first click) so I didn't really pay too much attention, but after 2 other repetitions, I am like wondering what is going on or what am I on?!

Anyone noticed something similar to me? My car is a cabrio with abouy 4,000 miles on it...
I AM LIKING IT!!! lol
dont believe it

I believe it... I always get mileage like this... and my Smart only has 1200 miles on it...

Mine is also a cabrio... I never use the A/C and it always takes me about 1 min to go from 0 - 45MPH...

We did it too

We added gas to a guys tank too. Then the following week we drained gas from his tank. He was going nuts.

I'm at 1350 miles, and although my first tank was at 32 mpg, the next several were in the range of 39-42. Last tank was 34. Now I'm seeing 130 miles at three bars down, with minimal a/c use. What up?

I don't have my smart yet (due in July 28) but I have noticed a definite improvement in gas mileage in my other cars. My Hyundai Accent has gone from 36 mpg to 37.5 to 39 in the last couple of months. My daughters 2002 Cavalier is running about 31.5mpg in town when it never did 29 mpg before. I wonder if the extra cost of gas has resulted in better processing which improves gas mileage?

I have found that you have to empty the tank to 2 bar or less, fill-up at the same gas station and use the same pump repeatedly to get an accurate mpg calculation.

My mpg's has gone down as it has gotten hotter outside and the A/C is on 100% of the time. I now have >5,000 miles on the smart.

It is not unusual for gas pumps to be inaccurate. Also, the gasoline formulation is different in the summer than it is in the winter. Then, some stations cheat and put regular in their premium tanks.

Recent mileage increases may be due to warmer weather.

It's actually called the phalange

I've heard others on here say you can't really get true, great mileage until the car has 5-10k miles on it...FWIW
