OK; so if you're like me, the big unwieldy, where do I store it, cardboard folding sunshades JUST DON'T CUT IT.
I have used the curtain type for several years now. They seem to be the world's best kept secret.
The curtain style (when open) stores up against the side of the windshield and takes up about 1" of space.
Two models are available and both are detachable for inside windshield cleaning. Pulling down your car visors to the shade holds the shade up against the windshield in addition to the interior mirror.
While you are at Dash Design's site, you might want to take a look at the "Sunglide",
http://www.dashdesigns.com/sun-glide.cfm
I have two of them in transit. I will report after I get them. It appears to me that they may be the answer to, driving in the afternoon, facing West, in a Smart car.
The "Dash Design" Sun Shade model:
http://www.dashdesigns.com/sun-shades.cfm is one piece, stores on the right side and is pulled across the windshield to the left and is held shut by Velcro. It is available in 'Silver' or 'White'. White is a little thicker and easier to retract.
Silver is; $29.95
White is; $33.95
To order"Dash Design": Call 800 843-3274
Press '1' for order,
Tell the person you want the "SUN-SHADE", 27" long.
The "QSD" model:
http://www.jcwhitney.com/CUSTOM-FIT-...2786_10101.jcw stores 1/2 of the shade on each side of the windshield, closes like theater curtains and is held shut by Velcro in the center and inside mirror plus fully open sun visors.
The "QSD" is available from JCWhitney for $$39.99
Because they (like "Dash Design") don't have Smart on their application list you must use the following procedure:
Call 800 603-3274,
Press '1' for order,
tell the person "this is a 'Special Order Request' for (Q.S.D. 10628 sunshade).
There my work is done for today.
Now, I'm going out to play with "Rejex", it just arrived.
If you PM me, provide your phone # and best time to call (I'll pay). I hate typing, I had a secretary for that.
