sunroof customization

does anyone know if the parts of the old 450 smart can be placed on the new smarts to get a sunroof that actually works? i would love to be able to have a sunroof in this car and not pay ab Xtra 3300 for the convertible smart

If you are going to go that route, I'm sure there are many shops that will be able to cut a sunroof out for you. It may even be cheaper to go aftermarket then going OEM. Call around to some local shops.

i know shops will do it but i dont want them to cut anything... i want the whole roof to move back like the previous years.

once i reveive my smart ill look into the conversion.. hopefully its no more than 1 grand

what i was trying to do is making the roof a removable top and lay it in the trunk or find a place to put it in.
