In a worst case the fumes are a perfect mixture of oxygen and hydrogen witch can be quite explosive. Alway side on safety not cost. When the new batteries arrive i will report on the brand and part# that is correct

I replaced my battery with an Optima Redtop34/78. Bought at Sams Club No vent necessary, it is sealed. 10"L - 6 7/8"W - 7 13/16"H.
800cc amps (0 deg F). 6 yr Warranty, 36mo free replacement - 36 MO pro rat.
Fits Batt box perfectly. POS cable long enough. NEG cable moved to alternate position provided by Mercedes for reversed posts. No mod to hold-down.
PM for any questions. I have a 2006 450 Mk Fortwo
