Temperature and alarm malfunction

Starting two days ago the temperature started to dip below 40 def F in the evenings and my car alarm started to go off continuously. Dealer tells me that this is his forth reporting of this problem and he has no solution and SMARTUSA tell me they never heard of this problem. I now face a 1.5 hour drive to the dealer who claims he can not fix the problem, any other suggestions?

Do you park in a garage or on the street? have you turned off the interior alarm?

Mine was being weird the other day in the rain. Went off 5 times in row, for no appearant reason. I had to visit service for different reason and mentioned the odd alarm behavior. The Gm said some of the alarm sensors have been put in crooked, so they checked mine. Ended up the chip in mine was either upside down or backwards at least thats what they told me.

When my alarm went screwy last May, the dealer told me that some had been set off by expansion/contraction due to temperature changes. He wasn't sure if that referred to the sensor itself or interior movement detected by the sensor. Don't know if that was my problem, but it was cured by replacing the motion sensor. forestacademy's is a good suggestion. If turning off the interior alarm (pushing the center button with the tow hook on it) before locking the car doesn't stop the problem, then it's not the sensor. So, it's worth trying to give you and the dealer more diagnostic info. Good luck, it's a real PITA.

It was parked outside and the temp was bout 39 deg F at the time of the failure, no wind.

I did turn off the sensor early this morning when I parked at work and again this evening.

A bit of a pain to get it checked since my dealer is 90 miles away and a check means a half day off from work.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Might try looking at this thread.
Alarming Situation
I had a problem with my alarm. Turned out to be some kind of interior sensor.
