Thanks to all of you who gave me input to help reassure me on my choice to reserve a SMART. It helped me realize that I have made a good decision. It is nice to have such a good group to communicate with!!

The final thing that made me feel secure in my choice was the photos posted by evilbean42 of their I95 crash. If that little car can take that kind of a crash, the passenger compartment stay in tact and the driver walk away, then the inconvenience of a out of town dealer is worth the piece of mind. I have seen what happens in the crash of the FIT and Yaris and the passenger compartment had intrusion in both instances.

My husband has reassured me that if we need to get it to Charleston and it won't run, it will fit on the trailer we use to tranport his Kubota tractor. We will be able to tow it to Charleston safely should we need to. I must also remember that I am keeping my 2001 Honda CRV as a back up vehicle.

I'm very glad to read that you have decided to maintain your reservation.We are both going to be waiting for a while ,but as a very SMART fellow member suggested to me,the usage of this forum is a great way to pass the time untill your baby arrives.You have a lot of friends here who are pulling for you.I'm sure that I speak for us all that, unless you get an orphan,in a year or so you will be so happy that you did not terminate the reservation.
