While Boris and Rachel took their few days off we ordered their armrest (the one that sells for $289.95). They processed the order on Monday when they returned and when I called them on Wednesday to check on the ETA, Rachel checked and told me it was due to arrive at our home that very day. About two hours later it was at our front door. I tried to install it Wednesday night but couldn't. We have a passion with all the options and some of the wiring harnesses run up the channel that the armrest's two securing bolts are supposed to attach to. I tried again Thursday, in the daylight, but still could not attach it. I'm a lawyer and a good one at that, but a mechanical wizard I'm not, so I called Rachel to see if she knew someone who could install it or if I drove from San Diego to Long Beach if they would install it? Rachel asked if she could call me back in about five minutes as she wanted to check with a San Diego person who does a lot of business with Smart Madness. It took ten minutes until I was speaking to Dan Brooks and he set up the time for today at 1:00 PM. It turns out that Dan is one of the owners of a custom stereo, window tint, keyless starter, etc. shop in Oceanside. It took them fifteen minutes to install the armrest and it really does look factory. They also tried to fix the bluetooth connectivity problem that the smart dealer has tried to fix four times (Monday will be the fifth). The dealer sold me a Kenwood 5120 Navigation System, the Bluetooth Module (KTA-200) and Sirius Module, and no phone will pair with the Bluetooth about 50% of the time. Dan's shop tried to fix it at no charge and actually got it to connect -- at least for the moment. The bottom line Smart Madness went way beyond the sale of the armrest, they put me in touch with a knowledgable installer rather than just saying we only sold you the armrest drive to Long Beach if you want it installed. Rachel put the customer first, rather than trying to make a few extra bucks. I don't know if Smart Madness is the cheapest or not, but based on the quality of what they sell, and given the service they provide, they do have a new full time loyal customer.
