Thinking about In-Dash Navigation?

Then you should take a look at this Crutchfield web page http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Produ...210&c=2&tp=144 which shows the Eclipse AVN2210p Double-DIN sized AM/FM/CD and REMOVABLE TOM-TOM navigation unit. The cost is $499.99 and this recommendation came-up when I plugged in the Smart car details. Having had several different nav systems in different cars and also having owned the portable TomTom, presently the 920, I find the TomTom is generally by far the best and most user-friendly nav unit. The Eclipse is a new approach. I like it because it makes the nav system a multi-use system when you take it out of the car. For example, I was in Paris a week ago. In order to find my hotel, I put the address into the TomTom, held it in my hand and started walking.....

Cool. I saw an installed Pioneer NAV unit at my local smart dealer yesterday... I nearly choked at the dealer's price... $2,995.00. No, I am NOT kidding you.

SMART (site administrator) posted some great gallery pics of a beautiful built-in NAV unit, but no clue about the manufacturer, trim kit, etc. that I have found yet. It looked VERY clean with a nice large screen.

Now if I can only figure out a way to get my smart to Paris, I'd have the perfect vacation.

Pioneer and Panasonic also make flat screen, double-din in-dash units. Get the double-din smart adapter and you can put most any double-din radio in your smart.
