For those with RED interior ?

I would like to know if the red interior is subject to sunfade? I am at the point of configuration and the more I look at the red, the more I like it. Just wondering if it will fade? Any info would be appreciated.

Don't know if it fades.

It is not very good at hiding stains or dirt, though.

Still, we love ours. And a bottle of 3M FabricGuard.

Really good question-after 5+months, I suspect my red dashboard faded slightly-did not use windshield visor
Not a significant fade-however, after 2+years wondering
What is your threshold on fade? How long will you keep your 2009? Are there remedies (3M)?

Dont know about two years down the road, but when I put in my tach/clock I had the bezel off last week and no fading yet. Had mine since early March. Sits out in the Texas sun all day.

i'm interested in seeing if the 'new' red interior will be MORE RED than the 'orange red' in the '08s.

i REALLY want a red interior too. just have to wait and see what's available when i configure. too bad the dealers won't have a 'sample' in the showrooms for us to see BEFORE we configure, like "Chief".

(JPaul....i want what YOU have!!! )

Look at it this way. If the red does fade, how hard can it be to replace the dash? The Doors, Dash and under dash (area by the radio) are all made of the same red (material?). I suspect that since the car is so recyclable the material is really some form of shreaded plastic. Anyway - I've had mine since January and no fading yet. Of course here in Oregon it might be more prone to rust. Mabey it wont matter.

I noticed that a long time ago.
It IS better than it looks on any pictures. The inside is what I call "sunset red".
It's more likely that the redder red panels to be introduced by year's end will not be matched by redder red upholstery.
About the white panels: they have the advantage of not being painted: the car has some scratches from parking (mine and other's) and it doesn't show, being white throughout.

i agree with you......i really like the current 'red' with the white and silver, but the wife doesn't much care for the "thats ORANGE" interior.

when i configure, i think (at this time) i would chose the same as what you have and take my chances with any fading. but my second choice was to take Yellow with Silver and the 'Comfort Pkg' and the "black" leather interior. "black" leather (yea, that's about as BLACK as the "red" cloth is RED!) but NOW since they've apparently DISCONTINUED the Yellow for '09, so maybe Silver and Silver?

Thank you all for the input!
I could put up with "some" fade after a couple of years. Maybe it could be dyed? Maybe I'll have to settle for the "black?" comfort package ! Anyway, I'm usually the kind of guy that runs the wheels off a vehicle, puts them back on and runs it some more! When I get rid of a vehicle, they're done ! Guess I'll just have to wait and see. Hoping to configure in Sept!
