Has anyone noticed there seems to be a switch when you press the throtle all the way to the floor, had my smart for a month and just noticed it today, not sure if it downshifts the trans or exactly what its function is??

If you're interested, I think you'll find it discussed a bit more on pages 131 and 134 of the owners manual.
Kickdown it what you are speaking of. It is used from a complete stop to accelerate quickly or to downshift while moving for better acceleration. If you are going over 70 and step on it without kickdown it won't downshift but if you do kickdown it will. The only other cars i have seen with a Kickdown point is some BMW's
It may be good to note here that if your engine has less than a thousand miles on it, you're technically still breaking it in and kickdown might damage it prematurely.
I'd say it would be better to wait for that kind of action until after you run it over the 1K mark.
