Anti-lock braking system self check. IIRC.

When traveling at about 5mph you might notice that "thump" or as others call it "rocking" or "jerky".

To eliminate that rocking sensation just shift into 2nd early or just use manual mode.

1. Anti-lock braking self test (ensures system is operational)

2. The "rocking" is mostly because of a combination of this car's torque, shift pattern, and the slow speed.

It's completely normal!

Its been a while since the question has been asked.

But yes its the ABS test. Happens everytime you restart the car and you hit around 5 MPH. And just after that you more than likely are going to be shifting.

I have always noticed a thumping, but it feels like it's kindof under my feet. It has worried me, but not enough to do anything about it, I guess.
