What if you get hit by a Mack truck in that thing?

I hear that question once in a while. After telling them ANY vehicle would lose a fight with a Mack truck, I just tell them: "If I get hit by a Mack truck, you can have my CD collection."

Took my smart to my daughter's third grade class. I put down the convertible top, and they all climbed it, just like stuffing a volkswagen. Had to have been ten or more of them in there, all arms and legs waving and heads bobbing. They loved it, and nothing was messed up after they left, except a whole lotta fingerprints on the shiny black (what's that area called between the top of your window and the ragtop?)

I can't wait to drive my Smart in next year's Chisholm Trail Days parade here in Lockhart, TX. And the next weekend I'll drive her in the Luling Watermelon Thump parade!

Really. The "hit by a truck" is the most often heard/repeated question/comment about the smart. NO ONE has ever seen me getting off my Harley and said, "What if you get hit by a truck?" I guess people aren't concerned with the safety of motorcycle riders like they are with smart car drivers.

Usually when I tell them my other ride is a motorcycle that shuts em up about a darn truck.

Excellent point. At less than 20 pounds, my bicycle weighs about 1% of what my smart weighs and I NEVER have folks ask me about what is going to happen when I get hit by a truck while bike riding.

Hi Sharon. We still get lots of action here in a2 and burbs.

Yesterday, I drove out Michigan ave, through the long gone town of Wayne, (Home of the Ford Truck plant), and spotted another Smart way up the road pulling into a bank.

I caught up with her and pulled up along side as she waited her turn in line. There were already people around her car asking questions and walking along side her car as she moved up in line.

We parked side by side, at the bank, which sat between the two E/W lanes of Michigan Ave at Wayne rd. Both cars Yellow, hers a Cab, ours a Passion.

We talked to people and handed out brochures for about hour...We had a ball. A2Jack.

I find that really interesting. And a bit disturbing...
