just picked up a used yellow passion 08 <200 miles and started to love it. all of a sudden the clutch/trans is acting up. stepping on the pedal slightly or a lot and the car repeatedly jumps/shakes almost violently forward and in reverse too.
called the service number and its being towed in now.

Sounds like a clutch disc problem shuddering against the flywheel, hopefully not that serious

No guarantees; but nothing to lose, Disconnect the battery for 5-10 minutes.
This will reset the computers.

My Smart is being towed in the morning, ABS light on, no brake lights and locked in Park. Other that than the car is fine......................
The 1-800 number told me they tow in on a rollback to the dealer, then when repaired return it to my driveway. It is 102 miles one way to the dealer.

i asked about a loaner, the 800# said to talk to service mgr at west covina about it?
but do they always return it to you?
my flat bed driver was NOT informed on where to put the hooks on the car, that i didnt care for.

i thought about the disconnect battery thing but i dont know if/ what else will need to be reset

dealer says its a faulty clutch?

cleaned and adjusted, by dealer, working fine now.
