Thanks and More Info on Toyota IQ

Good comments all. I am trying to gather all the facts. The last thing I read was that Toyota was planning to start delivering in the US in 15-24 months. They are taking orders in Europe for the gas and diesel.

Also, the back seat is like a MG or Porsche. It is a jump seat at best.

Thanks again for the help.

I heard that the IQ was going to be a Scion. Like others, I will wait and test drive it. I'm crossing my fingers that smart will bring an electric to the U.S.

My wife will be trading her Scion tC for the iQ when/if it ever gets here.

I STILL await an E-smart.

I kinda like it. Nowhere near as much as the smart, and it looks like a knockoff, but I still like it. If it appeals to a different niche that also likes microcars but like the IQ's perceived "practicality," more power to Toyota. It means sales of IQs will increase the number of microcars out there on the road, which can't be a bad thing.

It's a front wheel drive, something that I'm not fond of. It is going to have a Yaris engine which is peppy. I test drove a Yaris and it isn't a bad car. The tranny is a real automatic.

I don't like the center dash speedo/gauges. I feel it was hard to read the numbers the way they have them.

If the IQ uses the same engine/tranny it's going to be a hot micro but not as good on MPG as the smart. I wouldn't give up my order for my smart for an IQ but I'll test drive one!!

Wait untill they get here, then try and compair, I'm guessing since they are not comming here on the first wave it may not meet all us Standards.

Seen it, sat in it, took the picture. I'm 6'2" and fit in both the front and rear seats - no problem.

any comparison of the "I.Q." to the "smart" would be like comparing a Focus to a Mini.

both will get you there with good MPG's and are approximately the same size, but that's about IT!
