TPMS Location

Can anyone tell me where are the TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitor system) on the smart wheels.
Is it inside the valve stem or mounted somewhere on the rim??

Mounted on the inner end of the valve stems.

I would say that they are connected (or a part of) the valve stem. It is metal which is usually a good indication (sp?) of that.

the valve stem has a nut you unscrew it and off the sensor comes. that nut holds it on. the actual sensor is on the inside of the rim

Is the TPMS on the valve stem re-usable? By that I mean can I re-use it if I buy different aftermarket wheels? Is there anything special I need to look for it aftermarket wheels if it is re-usable?

Thanks in advance for any info.

Yes you can reuse the sensor. IF you get aftermarket rims I would reccomend had the rim or tire shop remove your OEM sensors from your OEM rims and have them put on your aftermarket rims to save you money from having to buy them all over again for they are expensive at the dealer.

I heard some rims the OEM sensor will not work but I have not found that to be true yet. Im very happy with my reused sensors./
