Traded my smart for a Scion

Hello all, After only six months of ownership of my smart I finally decided it was not the car for me and traded it for a 2008 scion xb. I just realized that it was more of a novelty than practical. It was a fun car to have but not when my other car was a 1997 mini van that was not going to last much longer. I decided to become a one car person again and the smart could not be the one car. In a perfect world I would be able to replace my old van with a new car and still keep the smart. Can"t afford that. At least I had the experience of owning and enjoying one of these unique little cars. When ever I see one on the road i can give the thumbs up sign and say I know the feeling. Good luck to all you smart owners. I will log on to the forum every so often to see how all the smarts out there are doing. Oh and by the way I love my Scion XB. It is also a great unique vehicle.

Good luck with you new car! We did the opposite and became a 2 smart car only family. But I do have the option of borrowing a van from work if needed for hauling...

You traded in your smart & you had the nerve to show your face around here again? Shame on you!

Jezzz guys! Can anyone here deny the smart is not for everyone? Play nice!
Still, I'm a one car family, having sold my Nissan recently. I couldn't afford to keep both, and my choice was clear to me. But, I am a family of one ... so the smart is very practical for my purposes.

I almost bought a Scion XD before my smart came in last February. It drove well had plenty of room, the gas mileage was acceptable, but it was just another Econobox, nothing special like the Smart. At times I would like a little more room, but overall I am happy with the choice I made. I do have a 09 Brabus on order!

I just rent a minvan on those 1 or 2 times a year I actually need to haul a lot of stuff or many people any significant distance. Much cheaper than buying a big car I won't need 99% of the time. I will use my Mitsubishi Expo microvan until it dies on me, which I'm hoping it won't do for a long while with good care.

My wife drives the Smart. If she needs to take something to work that won't fit, we swap and she takes the Sorento that I am driving. If it won't fit in the Sorento, then she can take the Excursion. If it still won't fit, I can pull out the utility trailer.....BUT I would never buy a Scion.
