Just got back from a major shopping trip with my mother. We had her walker in the trunk. On the way back we had 3 full-size shopping bags, and had room for one more shopping bag and could have put other bags in, too! This was a major test and "Sophia" passed it with flying colors.

Gotta love the online communities...a wealth of knowledge. I didn't need this information personally, but it's great to have it if the need arises. Thanks!

I have picked up so many tips and information from this site. I have to check in at least twice a day to make sure I don't miss anything. Our cars are very special, and I'm so lucky that we were able to pick up our orphan down in Round Rock, Texas. Now my husband is impatiently waiting to either get an orphan or wait the long wait for his reservation.

and for anyone who's keeping score, that's:

22113 cubic inches

or

about 12.8 cubic feet
(the brochure lists it at 12 cu ft - so your measurements aren't too bad!)

Wheelchair may fit if . . .

I visited a local smart owner and tried my wife's lightweight wheelchair. It will fit height-wise by placing the handles to the side, i.e, on it's back.
BUT, unless the large wheels are removable, the front wheels make it too tall to go inside. My wife's measured at 32" but the available space is only 27" to the roof. I plan to get her a lightweight chair with removable wheels. She's due for a new one anyway.

I asked that same question a few weeks back and got some very helpful replies - you may want to search the forum to locate that thread. Use 'wheelchair' as the search term.
Hope that helps you out.

I can fit a large unicycle in the back, tho depending on its size (I have several), it takes some doing, and there is one that doesn't fit unless I disassemble it and put the wheel in the passenger seat. Usually I have a 29" uni with me that has an extention (like a small handlebar) on the top of the frame. I was taking it out of the car yesterday while a young woman walked by and smiled. I explained, "It doesn't have room for a bike, but a unicycle will fit!" She liked that.
