Without really thinking, my friend and I decided to run down to South Philly's BJ's (not sure if it's a regional thing... but it's comparable to Costco or Sam's Club) to stock up on all sorts of econamy sized odds and ends. Without really thinking at all honestly, the two of us hopped in Ruby and made our way down there. $250 later, the two of us had super-sized chips, 50 rolls of toilet paper, 20 ice cream sandwiches, etc. that we were splitting up until we got to my car, which stopped us dead in our tracks. We looked at the cart, then the car, then the cart, then the car. No way...
To both of our surprise though, Ruby's little hatchback managed to accomidate 100% of our super-sized groceries. 32 fluid ounces of hummus, 2 pounds of string cheese and all. I wish i took a picture of it to post, but we were worried about the ice cream melting. Moral of the story- don't fear the trunk space. It's not nearly as bad as one may think.
Oh and as a side note- due to the hatch back nature of the trunk, the AC kept the ice cream cold the whole way home. If we took her little acrua integra, we would have had mush. And in the stop-and-go traffic through the city, i didn't even use 1/2 a gallon of gas! Go Ruby Go!
