Two Easy Steps For Smart Comfort

Step #1...

If you are under 6ft, release your seat belt from the guide at the top of the seat. This will get it off your neck and lower on your body. My Wife loves the new position. As a bonus it retracts better, no more catching in the door.

Step #2...

Buy a set of OEM rear wheels and tires and put them on the front (all four same size). The Ride and freeway Tracking will improve greatly. Wife likes this too . A2Jack

Or pick up a seatbelt clip at Walmart about $3, and modify the recline feature to allow the seat back to go farther back.

Why flame Forest?

Set up was designed for "One Size Fits All" It does not fit all. If you expect taller drivers will be driving your car, don't change it.

I did not say remove the guide. A2Jack

Having the seat belts in the guides gives the seatbelt proper 3 points that keep the occupant AWAY from the side of the car and securely IN the seat in the event of an accident. Having it out of the guide will now make the third point outside the seat and thus not do a proper job protecting the occupant in an accident.

But if you think it is OK to sacrifice your wife for some comfort....

Helps laps more than necks, but an inch or two less belt to retract?

Forest, now this part is food for thought.

"Having the seat belts in the guides gives the seatbelt proper 3 points that keep the occupant AWAY from the side of the car and securely IN the seat in the event of an accident. Having it out of the guide will now make the third point outside the seat and thus not do a proper job protecting the occupant in an accident.

I'll take some pics and check it out. We have experience in shoulder belt retro fits in old airplanes so we are not starting from scratch. Made the full live crash test in one such installation. A2Jack.

Let me put it this way.

This is an open forum, You are in fact suggesting to others that if they want to be comfortable they should do the mod to the safety systems in the car you suggested.

Where is the disclaimer "We are experts, Don't try this at home"
