This past weekend while some of the Carolinians were making their smart car Santa hats, they got introduced to the birthday cake my wife got me. I have to say, this has to be the most unique and awesome cake I have ever seen! I hated to cut into it...
I was thinking of doing some thing similar with the Cruiser cake pan. It is the closest thing to the Smart car in shape. I bought one (not necessarily from the site the photo and is link is from). I have not tried it yet.
Well, we definitely found a way to sacrifice the car and eat it as can be seen below! And much to our surprise, we found a good amount of chocolate buttercream inside!
The bakery is called Daphne's Bakery in Mint Hill, NC and I was totally amazed.
Very cool! I actually used to do custom cakes for people many years ago, and there were a LOT of them that refused to cut the cake! One lady froze her cake and kept it in the freeze just to look at it until it finally just disintegrated.
