The Ultimate Cake

This past weekend while some of the Carolinians were making their smart car Santa hats, they got introduced to the birthday cake my wife got me. I have to say, this has to be the most unique and awesome cake I have ever seen! I hated to cut into it...

Very cool! I'd hate to eat such a work of art, but I'd probably find a way.

You're not in Baltimore, so it's not from the Ace of Cakes, but I'd say you have a Queen or King of Cakes in your neighborhood.

And don't worry about eating it, the caloric content emulates its MPGs.

The cake looks really nice.

I was thinking of doing some thing similar with the Cruiser cake pan. It is the closest thing to the Smart car in shape.
I bought one (not necessarily from the site the photo and is link is from). I have not tried it yet.

Well, we definitely found a way to sacrifice the car and eat it as can be seen below! And much to our surprise, we found a good amount of chocolate buttercream inside!

The bakery is called Daphne's Bakery in Mint Hill, NC and I was totally amazed.

Very cool! I actually used to do custom cakes for people many years ago, and there were a LOT of them that refused to cut the cake! One lady froze her cake and kept it in the freeze just to look at it until it finally just disintegrated.

Way out of proportion, but a decent effort. Was it good?
